The action of the film takes place in nowadays, at a night club located in the former military underground shelter. The plot of the game is based on real developments of the Ministry of State Security of the USSR (the former KGB) in the field of researches of possibilities limitations of human beings, telepathy, and scare impact on the human organism. The gamer turns out to be in the underground shelter where there is laboratory that used prisoners as materials in its researches. He is to learn the truth about scaring events, that took place in 1953 and that were the course of personnel liquidation and the whole complex preservation.
A photorealistic visual style of "Phobos 1953" project brings the gamer back into the USSR of the fifties: the underground shelter's interior is reconstructed on the basis of a real military objectives, text materials used historically valid documents.
The atmosphere of isolation and suspense surrounds the gamer throughout the whole of the game, leaving him face to face with his phobias. The voice of an invisible "observer" broadcasting over the system of inner communication accompanies us. But whose voice is it – a friend's or an enemy's one?

«Dear Brother,
We have not seen each other for ages. I hope, you have not forgotten about me yet.
In these decisive days, I am writing to you for you are more than my brother but you are also a friend and the person I can confide in. You must visit me and see with your own eyes the things that no one has ever seen...”»
That’s how the whole thing starts. You come to see, but then you understand that visual sense is not enough. You come across sounds and soughs to fill your mind with indeterminate connections and elusive memories. The sound to penetrate through you, the music to guide you and prompt a sollution. A new experience to pass through.
Sublustrum is a first project by Phantomery Interactive, the studio based in St. Petersburg. An astonishing psychologial and detective quest game born from dark-ambient soundscapes combing the elements of decadence, steam-punk and retro futurism, with suspense and eerie touch.
A game to be seen – and a game to listen to. Sound is an essential part of the story, created for the game by Anthesteria project. But this distinctive music is not the only picturesque part of Sublustrum. Everything is unusual – especially, the visual style, the design and the plot, which gives you an opportunity to take an extraordinary voyage to the depths of human subconscious. Phantomery Interactive is to remind us again: the games are not just trade, and art is above all. Sublustrum is a significant event in the year of 2008, a game to move apart the limits of the genre, a promice to produce distinctly different impressions.

Panopticum Engine
Panopticum is an adventure game engine of the new generation. It combines classic panoramic view, familiar to every game aficionado, with up-to-date post-processing.
Regular 3D engines often lose the artistic component as a result of attempts to fill the frame with as many triangles as humanly possible. Triangles are just triangles with unsmooth edges, angular shading and other imperfections. Only the big-budget, enormous developer staff companies win the race.
Panoramic view technology is devoid of such weak points. Every view is a finished work of art, and the picture a user percieves is limited not by the user’s system requirements but the artist only. Succeeding post-production adds a flavour to your sensory evidence due to up-to-the-minute shading technologies.
The immersion effect is enhanced by a completely three-dimensional sonic ambience, with options of flexible tuning for the volume, position and range of every source of sound. Light reverberation creates the impression of chamber acoustics, enhancing the participation effect.
Panopticum Basic Features:
- 360 panoramic view;
- multilayer panoramic visualisation with
a possibility of manipulating at every particular layer;
- multilayer post-masking;
- HDR support;
- active environment;
- an extensive LUA based script system
allows you to take full control of the events;
- HD video performance;
- creating cut scenes with four degrees of freedom;
- versatile post-processing system allows to superpose
free-hand visual effects, such as:
- celluloid film emulaion;
- sepia and staging;
- brush and hot air effects, etc.
- scheduled background upload of locations allows you to evade
the game standby as well as watching the upload screen;
- high operation on weak platforms including weak graphic
adaptors of notebook-style computers.
Panopticum possesses a powerful graphic editor allowing you to construct a world of your own in a few days, with the following features:
- full graphic control of views, screens, as well as
their graphic and screen elements;
- node system of script editing allows to construct composite puzzles without
knowing the srcipt language itself (the node script could be converted
into text script for the further upgrade);
- diagnostic system for data collecion bug tracking;
- flexible and extensive script mechanics for creating expansion
modules and configuring the editor according the the game designer’s preferences.
